As Carma's only daughter, I'd like to thank all who have sent their well wishes and have given our family such support through this sad time. Mother and Dad both left us such a fine example and wonderful teachings that we are going to have to work hard to live up to their expectations for us and our descendants. Our goal is to raise grandchildren who honor the family legacy, so that those children will grow up to carry on a tradition of personal responsibility and teach it to their children. May God bless all of you as He has blessed us.

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know Mrs. Burkhart. She told me many wonderful stories. I know your hearts are heavy right now and you will miss her, but I know you know you will be reunited and she will be there will open arms waiting for you.

Dear Burkhart family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families at this difficult time. I will really miss Carma; she always brightened my day when I would see her at church. She sat next to me when we were in choir together. Rest in peace dear Carma. She was so supportive of the Scouting and Young Women's programs.
