GEORGE E. SCHELL A longtime resident of Riverside, CA, passed away at the age of 94 on Sunday, Oct. 24th, 2010. George was born on 05/29/1916 in Harrisburg, PA. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant during WWII, in the Pacific Theatre, 1943-1947. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Philippine Liberation Medal. George spent his career in the area of sales for Pittsburg Paints, shoes and the Peds company. When George and his wife, Betty, relocated to Riverside in 1965 he went to work selling real estate for Century 21, the Sawyer Group until his retirement. George was a passionate participant in local golf\' groups and an avid viewer of basketball (Lakers). He loved the Peanuts cartoons, especially Snoopy. He was a member in good standing with the Masons and Shrine\'s. George was preceded in death by his daughter, Ada (Edy) J. Wexler. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Betty Schell; son-in-law, James Wexler and grandchildren, Toby (Robert) Welsh, Douglas Ogle, Kenneth (Judy) Ogle, Randy Wexler, George Ogle and Marla (Mike) Neu. He also leaves 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; his niece, Kathy Duncan of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Viewing to be held on Nov. 1, 2010 at 5pm with Funeral Services on Nov. 2, 2010 at 10:30am, both at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer. Burial to follow service at Riverside National Cemetery at 12:15pm, Staging Area #2. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in his memory to the Alzaheimer\'s Foundation.
