Helen Douglas Obituary

HELEN DOUGLAS 97, Of Riverside, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010. Helen was born in Chicago, IL on September 9, 1913. She married Frank Douglas in Detroit, MI on September 2, 1932. In 1947, Frank and Helen moved to Riverside with 3 of their children. Frank predeceased Helen in 1997. Helen was a member of the O.E.S., Ungava Chapter #106 for over 65 years. She was Worthy Matron in 1965. She was also a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Helen was Worthy High Priestess in 1959 and Supreme Worthy Organist from 1988-1989. Helen and Frank were long time members of Magnolia Presbyterian Church in Riverside. Helen is survived by her four daughters, Barbara (Dan) Hutchinson of Spokane, WA, Dorothy De Mars of Fremont, CA, Kathy (Dwight) Seely of Las Vegas, NV and Janet Brookshier of Corona, CA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Bright Star and also Vitas Hospice for their care and compassion. Viewing will be from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, 12/8/2010 with services following. Both will be held at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Magnolia Presbyterian Church, 7200 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92504.
