ALOHA!! I came across this site while surfing the internet. I met your husband, father when he served his mission in Hawai'i, in one of the Kane'ohe Wards (can't remember which one) I believe his companion was an Elder Harvey. Your pix on this page is just as a remembered him... he wss such a handsome young man/missionary, quiet, always smiling, soft spoken. I was single, in my early 20's and thought back than what a wonderful companion and father he would be... when it was time for him to settle down. I'm truly sorry for the loss of your eternal companion, your father. I know that his physical presence in this temporal life will be felt, but because we believe that there is life beyond this life... that his 'ohana will find comfort with this knowledge. MALAMA PONO A ME MAHALO KE AKUA!!

Our family's condolences go out to yours. I knew Herman and his family back in the day when they first came to the LDS Polynesian Ward in San Francisco. I know that your knowledge and faith in the revealed covenants of eternal families will be a comfort and strength to you now. I recall mentioning this to Herman's brother Bob when their dad passed away right after they were sealed as a family. May you and yours be encircled in our Saviour's love at this challenging time in your lives.

Our Condolences to Herman's family and friends for your loss of a wonderful being! We just found out today that a dear loving friend went back home to our Heavenly Father. We wish'd we knew sooner so we could of made it out there. We have too many fond memories of Herman, We grew up with Herman, and myself? I honestly thought back in the days that Herman would one day be my brother-in-law, lol., but time changes everything. He use to come over our house almost everyday and we were all so involved with church activities, we all loved seminary, cause that was our crack up time before we all started our day at school, temple pageants, music festivals, we even all met up as a group all the time and made our own activites, like roller skating, movies, the beach!, we all loved meeting up at the stake dances, all kinds of stuff..he always had a way of talking corny jokes and stories, and we just had a blast! we have pictures of him with our family, I will try to post some, but all we can ever say about this man is?? He was a great person and will be surely missed by all of us and all the people he came in contact with thru out his life. His legacy moves on thru his children. May you rest in Love dear friend till we meet again!..with love and fond memories, Solomone & Louina Havili
and The Lavulo Sisters, Gina, Felicia & Tania....Lov ya Herman!:(

I am so grateful to Elder Ah Sue's faithful missionary efforts so many years ago. He taught the discussions to Kory Jones, who was baptized in this photo, and who later served a mission of his own. Kory and I married 16 years ago and are raising our own family in the gosepel, because of Herman's labors. All the blessings and joy of the eternities await - our love to your family and prayers for your comfort and peace.

Mrs. AhSue and children. Your husband and father was quiet and gentle. He is a gentle man through and through. I have taught with him at Fremont for the last 14 years. I never once heard an angry word, but always was greeted with a smile and respect. Sandi, Herman often spoke of you and the boys, and it was always with a beaming smile. Hold fast onto one another through this difficult time.

Sandi, boys and all Ah Sue family,
Herman always had a smile on his face-- it lit up a room. I will remember it always. Christmas Eve Bunco and AhSue family gatherings will never be the same, but the insurmountable good memories will help to heal. Love to all.

Sister Ahsue & Boys:
Herman always had a kind word and
a big smile to share with me and
my roomate, Bro. Cairns. He always
was interested in how we were doing
and we felt his love in this way.
When we changed Wards, and would see
the Ahsue Family out and about, Herman
would always make it clear how much we
were missed. This was truly heartfelt.
We know he is in his Heavenly Home
and is busy making family and friends
there as happy as his family and friends were during his mortality.
God Bless.....

Sandi, Greg and Family,
I am so shocked to see Herman's obituary in the paper today. I saw the name and didn't recall his first name because Matt always refereed to him as Mr. Ah Sue.
Matt is out of town this weekend but I am sure if he were here, he would have attended the services to support Greg and the rest of the family.
I remember seeing Herman walking the neighborhood on several occasions and thought good for him!! He looked like he was enjoying it.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
With deepest sympathy,
The Scroggins Family

To Sandi and Those Wonderful Boys,
It was a gift to teach with Herman at Fremont for the past 15 years. He was my friend and I will miss his smile so much. Herman wrote me a good-bye letter last Wed. 6/9, saying he admired my teaching skills and support of him (I've just retired). It was truly the other way around. I always admired that Herman was so good for children; kind yet firm in his commitment to their education. I wished him well in his new direction and he agreed that we never know what path God will have us take. God Bless Herman, God Bless you all. I will treasure my memories of my teacher friend.

To the AhSue Family,
I had the priviledge of working with Herman at Fremont. When I think of him, I can only remember the numerous conversations that involved his wife and boys. He was a proud husband and father. No matter what the situation, he always seemed to stay calm, smile, and have kind words to say. His gentle ways showed that he was different, incomparable. I hope that you will find peace and comfort in knowing that Herman was admired by all who knew him, and in the faith of eternal life. My prayers are with you...

Thinking of you at this time of loss. We spoke to Herman but a few times throughout the years, it's unfortunate that we've come to know more about him now than in all the years we've been neighbors. Reading over the entries, we regret that we didn't make an effort to talk more. Dennis, Pearl & Ava

I have had the priviledge of working with Herman at Fremont Elementary for many years. When I think of him I think of the most kind and wonderful man--always with a smile and kind word to say. I will not forget the times he played his guitar and our classes would sing. One of his favorite songs he would sing had the lyrics...I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky. He liked to talk about his family and all the accomplishments of which he was proud. Although he is no longer with us, he leaves a legacy of love and compassion that will live on forever. Sincerely, Jan Gonzales
