Hi Claudia,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are so looking forward to the Tucson trip we talked about and spending time with you. Our thoughts of Don over the years are so amazing in so many ways. He was the investor for both Mike's mom and Tammy and they always spoke so highly of him even though they always dealt with him over the phone. I still remember Reina's wedding when he stepped up to do the ceremony at the last minute and what a beautiful job he did; so special to have your father marry you. It is our prayer that the great memories of your life together will give you comfort and strengthen you in the days and months to come. We love you, Rosie and Mike

I admired Don very much. He was so honest and sincere. He always seem to know the right thing to do and made me feel that I should always do the right thing. He was never judgmental, but he followed his convictions. I enjoyed being with him. He had an easy laugh, an easy disposition, and a way to make the other person feel important. I am blessed to have met him. He was a wonderful role model in so many ways. God Bless Don Meek and his lovely family.

Saying goodbye is always hard to do, and this goodbye is my hardest. Don was a great friend. So smart, handsome, loving, and humble. He loved his family very much. Claudia, my dear friend, knowing how much Don loved you, is amazing. Travis and Reina, your daddy was so proud of both of you. And those grandkids, wow, how beautiful... and he knew that.... he loved them so much. Grief can be so darn hard, but our special sweet memories will help us cope. I will always remember all the kindness Don and his family, gave to our family in many times of need. Don seemed to be there for everyone. Please know I feel your loss, but may your hearts soon be filled with peace, and together can celebrate a wonderful life. Now the Lord Jesus is with him, holding him in the palm of HIS hand. Love you guys so very much.

Don Meek was essential in the success of this counties code enforcement court. His manner of resolving cases in a timely manner with all parties being satisfied was impressive and comparable to none. Hopefully his courtroom style will carry on.....

My Uncle Don was everything you could want in an uncle: young, handsome, smart, witty, kind, understanding. He was only sixteen when I was born, and when I was a little girl, he treated me as if I was the most special little person in the world. No matter how many years passed, I would still feel like that special little girl when I was around him.
Dad always said, "Donny is so smart, he should go to law school," and he did. I did too, and Uncle Don was my role model. I was so excited to tell him I was going to law school, and I was thrilled that he came from California to my graduation in Florida. I called him once for advice on an ethical matter, and although I don't remember what the matter was, I have always remembered what he told me. He said that he would probably not be comfortable with the scenario I was describing, but as far as whether or not it was "unethical", he said, "I try to be slow to call other attorneys 'unethical'..." Many times since then I have been angry with another attorney and Uncle Don's words have slowed me from making accusations that I would've come to regret.
Claudia, Travis, and Reina, I can't even imagine the loss that you must be feeling. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm going to miss you, Uncle Don. I hope you've gotten to meet all those ancestors that you and I researched and put in our family trees on ancestry.com. I hope you have found out the definitive answer about which one of those two Obed Swains is our ancestor! (And I hope I was right! (Ha Ha.)) I love you, Uncle Don. Oh, and congratulations on reaching the finish line of life "three hours ahead."

Don was a true GENTLEMAN both in the way he interacted with others and his calm and soothing personality. I always looked forward to talking to him because he made you feel that you were special. Although I will miss the opportunity to talk to him again, I'm happy that his trials here on earth are over. He is in my prayers.

Don was my brother-in-law for over 40 years. I first met him when he was 28 and I was 16. Don was able to become an attorney and a judge. He was very well known in Hemet and led a successful life.

Don leaves behind a loving wife, Claudia, and his best legacy, two great children, Travis and Reina.

Don and I shared many good laughs together when we were together at family get togethers and parties. We were the "slow eaters" in the family and used to have "seconds", so we would take our time eating. Everyone else at the table was finished long before we were, but we didn't care. We just kept on smiling, laughing, and listening to everyone else banter on! It was loads of fun and a lot of great memories! I will miss you, Don and so will everyone else in the family!

I never met Don, but I have heard so many wonderful things over the years from my closest friend who loved Don, I feel in some way, I knew of him. To Claudia, Reina, Mark and all of the rest of Don's family and friends, heartfelt sympathy and prayers. Love to all,

He loved his family and he served his family; he loved the law and he served the law; he loved his country and he served his country; and he will be missed by everyone who knew him. I enjoyed many days and nights studying with Don during law school. He was a great friend and a good man. I am thankful we got together a couple of years ago to catch up when I was visiting California. I will miss his thoughts, opinions and dry humor--W.C. Fields had nothing on you, Don. I can only hope that I am fortunate enough that our paths cross once again someday.

Don and I worked together as law clerks in the late 70's. I have fond memories of our early days as eager attorneys to be and remember his gentle kind manor. Please accept my condolences.
