Donald Davis Obituary

DONALD DAVIS of Moreno Valley, California, age 80, was born in Iowa on Sept. 1, 1930. He served in the Air Force & was stationed at March Air Force Base specializing in Russian Intelligence. He married Mary Kay Sherman & moved to Michigan to begin his long career in Banking. They relocated to the Inland Empire in 1960 to work for Security Bank in Riverside. His greatest accomplishment was being instrumental in the founding & start-up of two regional banks, Bank of Redlands & Palm Desert National Bank. He also served as President of both banks. He loved to golf, hunt & fish. Donald would coordinate annual trips to take local friends to hunt for pheasants in the corn fields of Hastings, Nebraska where he grew up. During the last year of his life, Donald became a member of St. Patrick\'s Church in Moreno Valley, & enjoyed volunteering 4 hours every week at the church office. On Oct. 20, 2010, Donald passed away. He is survived by sons, Michael & wife Susie of Moreno Valley & Patrick & wife Stephani of Tualatin, Oregon; grandsons, Andrew of Sacramento & Nicholas & Austin of Moreno Valley; great-granddaughter, Mykenzie Kay of Moreno Valley; brother, Russ & wife Cynthia of Arcata, California. He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy & Mary. He was a beloved Dad, Grandpa, & Great-Grandpa...... We will forever miss your love and generosity. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Miller-Jones Moreno Valley Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 10915 Pegion Pass Rd., Moreno Valley, CA 92557, Wed. Nov. 10, 2010, 11am, Inurnment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery.
