Emery Carmichael Obituary

EMERY EARLE CARMICHAEL Emery (Mike) was born December 27, 1924 in Pickering, Missouri and passed away at home in Sun City, California on January 7, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years Lois Carmichael; 7 children Dinah Herbert, Robin Younger, Martha Dillingham, Vernon (Carmichael) Alexander, James Alexander, Cindi Alexander, & Harold Alexander; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his one Sister. He was preceded in death by his son Lloyd Carmichael, and 2 siblings. Emery served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was discharged as Staff Sergeant. Professionally, Emery had his hand in many things. He was a Draftsman in Engineering and also a Manager for quality control for Boeing where he worked for 25 years. He also owned and operated two barbershops in California. Emery loved helping people and stayed active in the community with the Masons, Kiwanis, and the Menifee Bible Church. His hobbies included piloting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren. Emery\'s family and friends will miss his take-charge personality and friendly spirit. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9-11 a.m. with a service at 11:00 a.m. at Evans Brown Sun City Chapel.
