Oh, Minnie! I can not believe 10 years have passed since you slipped away while your girls were eating chicken curry, I think. We don't chat with Liz as much as we should. But we enjoy her pictures of the snow in New Hampshire. I know she thinks of you, a very special, wonderful mom who was there for al here kids. I am glad to think of you and Hank and so many others as being safe and warm and protected from the vagaries of this world. We love you, Minnie!

Dear Pat, Alana & Liz
In searching Minns ancestry I came across this beautiful memory book of Aunt Muriel. My apologies for not sending you a note, but glad to have found this site. Although I have only met Aunt Muriel and Uncle Bill maybe a few times, and recall meeting some of you Pat, Alana and Jimmy, I feel as though I have known all of you and Liz all of my life. With the many pictures and stories through Granny. I am so glad to have come across this site, and wish all of you many blessings. There are so many wonderful comments about your Mom and I do remember her smile and her inner strength and spoke with conviction just like a Minns. The miss is huge and never goes away, but the memories are everlasting and so good too to be able to laugh again when we speak of them. Our Richard was a comic and a character and our Dad never hesitated to speak his mind, had a heart of gold a very passionate person. We have so many loving memories of our loved ones and can be comforted in knowing so many are all together again. Also, we did have a little Minns reunion with the presence of Auntie Binki and her grand-daughter Susan's coming to Canada. Myself and husband Steve had them, Uncle Allan, Bonnie, Robin and her 2 boys, Ethan and Liam, my Mom and brother, John over on Sunday, September 6th, 2015. We had a real great day filled with fun, laughter and lots of stories and memories. So here's a part of the family in Canada wishing you many wonderful days ahead with all of your heartfelt memories and stories still to tell and remember.
With much Love to all of you, Auntie Muriel, Uncle Bill and Jimmy

Dear Lizz,
Please accept my apology for allowing many months to pass and being unable to find the appropiate words to write a truly memorable condolence in memory of "Your Dear Mom" ...
Although I've never had the honor of meeting your Mom, I feel as if I knew her, just as I'm certain many friends did from the cruise group.
Your "Dear Mom" was a lady Lizz. A lady that will be remembered of having class, dignity, grace and style. A lady that made YOU so very proud to call Mom.
You were a wonderful daughter to your Dear Mom Lizz and should feel very proud of the many memories you built with her. You and Bill first introduced her to the wonderful life of cruising in 2006 to Bermuda and built so many fond memories that you will always have to hold onto for a lifetime. Hold on to each and every special memory you shared with your Mom, you have much to feel proud about my friend. Please know in your heart that your dear Mom is finally out of pain and in the same place as your Dad and your beloved Bro Jim. Together they ARE in a better place ...
In Friendship & Deep Sympathy,
Sandy & Joe Daly ~

Lizz -
I am very sad to hear the news of your mom's passing. Both your mom and your dad played a significant role in making Warner Ranch feel like a real neighborhood to my sisters and I.
Your parents, (and your brother), were a part of my experience of Filaree Avenue as I was growing up and I miss them all. They were always very kind and considerate to us neighborhood kids.
In my heart and memories, Filaree will always be... Mehegan Street.
With friendship and love, Roy

Minnie Mehegan, You were always so kind to me and treated me with dignity and respect. You cared about me because Lizz cared about me and, moreover, because you saw me as a human being worthy of love. I will never forget your kindness or the sexy string bikinis you made for Lizz and me in the summer of 1975.

I am sitting here holding a box that contains two porcelain thimbles, pieces from Minnie's personal collection. One is decorated in gold leaf wildflowers evocative of Germany. The other bears the likeness of Poet Laureate William Wordsworth, with the words "The English Lakes" written on the back. I can clearly envision a rosy cheeked and smiling Minnie standing by the shore of Lake Windermere, with the sky a cloudy, misty gray. It is, by all accounts, a glorious British afternoon, a day resplendent with God and Nature. The wind is whipping her hair to one side and she's thinking about putting on her scarf. The hills are crying the Poet's song...his Ode on Immortality:
What through the radiance which was once so bright
Be now forever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, or glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, rather find
Strength in what remains behind
This verse is soothing to me now. I know the Poet's had a reason to sing. Your Mother graced God's earth.
Minnie was a delightful and endearing lady, a woman so worldly wise and full of adventurous tales. How I longed to read her autobiography! It was a gift to have known her, if only for a brief time.
Go rest, dear Minnie, you gentle soul. You will not be forgotten.

get through the tough times like this.
