Gertrude Bishop Obituary

GERTRUDE DORIS BISHOP Age 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 23, 2010 while surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bedford, VA. on September 6, 1928, Gertrude was the only daughter of the late Charles & Rowena Lawhorn. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Junior Lawhorn. Married in 1947 to the late Chester Bishop, she was a dedicated homemaker and a faithful Christian woman who enjoyed cooking, baking and her artwork. Gertrude and Chester went on to have four loving sons and two daughters-in-law: David and Susan, Melvin and Wanda, Michael, and Richard. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Dawn and her husband Blair, Kameron, Scott, and Gregory. She also left behind the little loves of her life, her four great-grandchildren: Collin, Jonathan, Tyler, and Anabelle. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hesperia, CA. Memorial service to be held at First Baptist Church, Hesperia, CA. on December 30th at 10:00 am. Viewing will be Thursday December 30, from 4-8 pm at Rubidoux Mortuary and graveside services at Riverside National Cemetery on Friday Dec. 31, at 10:15 am.

I miss you so much already Grammy. I know you will still be around us to guide us along the way. I hope to make you very proud. Tomorrow and Friday will be so hard, and it would normally be you who would comfort me through something like this...but I know you will....in your own special way. I love you Grammy.
