Thinking about and missing Uncle Mike.

I met Father Mike when he celebrated my mother's funeral Mass. We had lunch afterwards at my cousin's house, where we all celebrated my mother's life. I sat and talked to Father Mike for hours! What a lovely human being! He fell sick soon afterwards, and went in hospital. I was shocked to hear he had passed away shortly after
that.

Father Manning has been our family friend since I was about 10 years old. He has done our weddings and our kids baptisms and has always been such a wonderful friend and mentor. He laughter and smile is contagious, and he will be deeply missed.

Father Manning has been like a member of our family for more years than I can remember. He has always been there for us. Even after our mother passed, and dad moved to Texas with my brother, we still kept in touch with him. Like every one else our family will miss his kindness, the love he had for others and especially the love for the Lord.
Thank you Father Manning for being such a wonderful part of our lives. God bless you.

Fr. Mike was my 2nd cousin. My mom, Mrs. Jean Marie Marshall Kotowski was his 1st cousin on her mother's side. I've known Mike all my life. Our family attended his ordination at Techny, in Illinois, which I remember to this day. One of the most memorable attributes of Mike was his ever-present and genuine smile. His shining face and positive disposition reflected the living Christ and Holy Spirit within him. Mike never had a complaint or negative judgment of anyone. Mike loved life; he loved people; he loved the Lord. He was blessed with many gifts which Mike used to their fullest to realize the purpose of his life...communicator, listener, advisor, harmonizer, pastor, performer, messenger, counselor, consoler, friend, companion, giver...and the list could go on.... The earthly realm has lost a great man. The spiritual realm has gained a brother and saint. All my love, in all ways, always, cousin Sue.

Fr. Mike was a beloved part of our lives - from marrying us 36 years ago, to baptizing our children, to last rites and funerals for our mothers. He was so filled with loving kindness and joy. His passing is a great loss, and we, like many others, will miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Fr. Mike.

To the family and friends of Father Mike Manning. Father Mike's passing was a true loss. He was a great teacher and minister of God. I always appreciated Father Mike's theology because he believed God is loving and forgiving toward all of his children. I have known Father Mike since I was about 10 years old and he was a kind man with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. He is gone but not forgotten. I will be one of the many people who miss Father Mike.
