Richard Scott Obituary

RICHARD SCOTT Richard Scott, a retired executive with Motorola in Riverside and long-time tax accountant died November 21 at age 88. The fifth of six boys, he was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to Irish immigrants John and Margaret Scott. After military service he worked for an international mining company that transferred him and his family to a copper mine in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. When the mine closed in 1958, he relocated to Phoenix, AZ, where he worked for Motorola and was eventually transferred to Riverside in 1962. A rock enthusiast, he represented the Orange Belt Mineralogical Society in a 1990 story that ran in the Riverside Press-Enterprise. Since his wife of 66 years Margaret died in July, he is survived by his three children Brian, Patrick and Beverley Scott, and granddaughter Chloe Scott. A memorial service will be held at 1:30, December 11 at Olive Grove Retirement Resort in Riverside with reception to follow.
