Robert Condran Obituary

ROBERT (BOB) CONDRAN Loving Father to 6, Grandfather to 13, Great-Grandfather to 16, Uncle, and Friend to everyone he met, passed away at age 88 on March 13, 2012. Born in Huron, South Dakota, he and his family moved to Iowa where he attended high school at Immaculate Conception in Cedar Rapids. While enlisted in the Navy he met and married his sweetheart, Phyllis Hardman of Oelwein, Iowa. Soon after starting their family, they moved to Riverside, CA. Robert retired from Prudential Insurance after a long and successful career. He loved golf, golf and more golf! But his passion was his family, his faith, helping others in need, hamming it up with his drama group, singing with the choir (he was a baritone), and enjoying nature of any kind. His sparkling Irish blue eyes and mischievous grin will be missed by many, as will his generous love and radiant positivity. His loving wife, Phyllis, of 48 years, as well as his eldest daughter, Constance J. Dittman, brother Patrick Condran, and sister MaryAnn Hordorowski, preceded Robert in death. Five children survive him: Robert M. (Mike) Condran, Mark R. Condran, Christine M. Furlong, Matthew F. Condran, and Cynthia L. Condran. There will be a 9AM Rosary, 10AM Service and 12PM Reception at St. Catherine's of Alexandria Church, with a brief funeral at 11:30AM at Olivewood Memorial Park in Riverside on Friday, March 23, 2012. All who were touched by him are welcome to attend.

I'm so sorry to hear about Uncle Bob's passing. On behalf of Deleva Hardman and family, we send our sincerest condolences. Bob was always positive and smiling! I really enjoyed the 3 weeks we spent in California several years ago. And was happy to get to spend time with him a few years ago when he visited Iowa.

Papa, so many things I've learned from you! The most precious is that you helped me turn the pages of my life gently, to love with a generous heart and when all else failed to smile. Your love will remain for eternity, see you there.

Grandpa, I already miss you so so much! I'm sad that within the last year I didn't get to spend as much time with you as I used to. I will just remind myself of all the wonderful memories I have of you! You always loved all of us girls with all of your heart and I couldn't ask for a better grandpa. I love you so much!

Grandpa, there is so much you've taught me, but the most important thing I can think of is how to love unconditionally. Thank you for being a great example of a man in my life! I will never forget you! I love you!
