Virginia Knox Obituary

VIRGINIA "GINNY" WARRINER KNOX Virgina "Ginny" Warriner Knox, an Arizona native, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2010. Born on May 19, 1919, she proceeded to live quite an adventure. As education was always important to her, Ginny attended Phoenix College and joined Theta Chi Delta sorority in 1937. She remained active in the alumni association until her death. Ginny taught school for over 15 years in Riverside, CA and concluded her working career as the office manager for Shaklee Distributing in Phoenix at the age of 85. She was a treasured mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. As she aged in Arizona, she was an active volunteer and made baby blankets that she donated to hospitals. She enjoyed watching and rooting for Arizona sports teams and watching her family grow. Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Knox, and is survived by her children, Ginger Monroy and Bob Knox, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held on November 22nd at 2 p.m. at Westchester Villa, 6150 N. Rural Rd, Tempe, AZ 85283. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to Hospice of the Valley in memory of Virginia Knox. Donations can be made online at www.hov.org, by mail to 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014 or by phone at (602) 530-6992.
