Kurt Keltner Obituary
The life of the one and only, Kurt Keltner.
On Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, Kurt Keltner set out on the Kenai River - his happy place. After a long afternoon of fishing, he and his buddies were headed back up river for the evening, when something malfunctioned with the boat's steering, causing the boat to spin rapidly and sending all four passengers overboard. Three of those passengers made it to shore, suffering minor injuries, but Kurt did not. The reason for Kurt not making it to shore is still unknown, but family and friends suspect that he was unconscious when he hit the water.
After days of searching up and down the river banks and using sonar detectors to look under the water's surface, the whereabouts of Kurt are still unknown.
Kurt had been a resident of the Vail Valley in Colorado since 1972 and continues to live through his mother Shirley Keltner, his brothers Kliff and Kraig, his sister Kris, his beloved wife Teresa Keltner, and their three children, Sage, Jessica, and Melisa.
We invite anyone who knew Kurt to join us in celebrating his life on Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 from 2-7 p.m. at 4-Eagle Ranch in Walcott, Colorado. We will be sharing memories and laughs, just the way Kurt would want to be remembered.
