Anna Eberly Obituary
Anna Mary (Fitting) Eberly, age 102, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Lemoyne, died at Bethany Village on Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Anna Mary was born on Monday, April 29, 1912 in Hummelstown to the late William H. Fitting and Evla (Sweigert) Fitting. Anna Mary was the widow of I.S. Eberly, II, whom she married on February 19, 1938, and who died on March 11, 2000.
Anna Mary's survivors include her sons: I.S. Eberly, III and his wife, Tita, of Mechanicsburg, Lee Eberly of Mechanicsburg; her five grandchildren: Ilka Eberly, Noel (Eberly) Brennan, Courtney (Eberly) Cofer, Ingrid Eberly, Ilene Eberly; and her four great-grandchildren.
Anna Mary graduated from Lemoyne High School as part of the class of 1930. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg where she faithfully attended Sunday services. Anna Mary was a member of the General Federation of Women's Club (GFWC) of Mechanicsburg and the Seidle Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling with her husband. Anna Mary loved playing bridge until a few years ago. She always enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
All are welcome to join Anna Mary's family at her memorial service on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 135 West Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Michael V. Minnix officiating. Anna Mary's family encourages friends to join them for a reception to be held in her memory immediately following the service, beginning around 1:45 p.m. in the Bethany Village East Community Room, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Burial was private in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Bethany Village Care Assurance Endowment Fund, 325 Wesley Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; or to Mechanicsburg Area Foundation's Town Pride Fund, PO Box 312, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
