Daniel Kitner Obituary

Daniel J. Kitner Jr., 91, of Shermans Dale, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the Manor at Perry Village, New Bloomfield.
Born Thursday, September 21, 1922 in Shermans Dale, he was the son of the late
Daniel J. Sr. and Jennie L. (Bornman) Kitner.
Mr. Kitner was a member of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church. In 1959 Daniel Jr. and brothers Harry, Raymond and Boyd incorporated the business that their father had started in 1943 and Kitner Brothers Excavating Co. was born.
He is survived by his wife Miriam B. Kitner; a son Gary Kitner of Shermans Dale and a daughter Linda Jensenius and husband John of Maine; two brothers, Harry and Boyd Kitner both of Shermans Dale, two sisters, Annie Richey of Shermans Dale and Bessie Weller of New Bloomfield. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Raymond and John and a sister Louise Fisher.
Services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, 935 Windy Hill Road, Shermans Dale. His Pastor, Rev. Dr. Karl Herman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Gilead United Methodist Church. 935 Windy Hill road, Shermans Dale, PA 17090 or the charity of choice.
The Boyer Family is honored to handle the arrangements for our friends, the Kitner family.
