KENNETH D. CARMICHAEL

Kenneth D. Carmichael, age 83, passed from this life Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Gulf Breeze Hospital in Gulf Breeze, FL. He was born October 23, 1931 in Sevier County, Tenn. to James W. and Margret Jane (Sheppard) Carmichael. Kenneth was a manager for Bellsouth and served 4 years in the Air Force were he was in the Korean War and then remained in the Air Force Reserve for a additional 19 years were he retired. He has lived in Gulf Breeze for the past 52 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gulf Breeze, FL. Kenneth is preceded in death his parents, one son Kenny Carmichael, and one sister June Hicks. He is survived by his wife Catherine B. Carmichael, one son Shane Carmichael and wife Michelle, and one daughter Kim Cox all of Gulf Breeze, FL, three sisters Barbara O'dell, Wanda Carmichael, and Vivian Hodge all of Knoxville, Tenn. And 2 grandchildren Caleb and Mikayla Carmichael. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Orr officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley, FL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers donations be made to the charity of choice. A special thank you to the Gulf Breeze Hospital ICU unit for all your special care. Family and friends may sign the online register at www.brownfh.net

Shane, all the Carmichael family,
I was so sorry to learn that you had lost your Dad. All the support and help that Ken gave to Mayor Joe in days long gone by were so appreciated by Joe and are still remembered by this family..

So thankful you were able to be such a big part of your dad's life, Shane. What a blessing your parents have been for you, your family, and Kim. And what blessings all of you are to them. Sending prayers of peace and comfort to all who love Ken. Love lives beyond death and Ken will be beside you and within in you all through your lives. What more can we ask than we make a positive difference for those around us. Ken did just that.
