ARLENE MAZUREK
1929 - 2010

The Mazurek Family is saddened to announce the passing of Arlene Mazurek, 80, our beloved mom, grandmother, aunt, and sister-in-law on Monday, June 7, 2010. Arlene was a warm and giving person and avid Saints fan who lived each and every day of her life with joy and a smile. We will miss her.
Arlene was born in Orfordville, Wisconsin on August 8th, 1929. Moving to Pensacola as a child, she attended and graduated Brentwood Elementary, A.V. Clubbs, Pensacola High, Pensacola Junior College, and the University of West Florida, from which she earned a Bachelor's Degree. Arlene began working for the Medical Center Clinic on Chase Street, moving with the Clinic to Palafox Street and then on to West Florida Hospital in 1975. Arlene was an X-Ray Technician, an instructor of X-Ray Technology, and an accomplished public speaker. After becoming a breast cancer survivor, she found her calling as a Breast Cancer Education Counselor. She gave freely of her time and care whether at work or home to those in need of advice and support in regard to their breast cancer fears. Arlene was a member of the Northwest Florida Society of X-Ray Technologists, a member of Toast Masters, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

I worked at West Florida Hospital in 1975 when Arlene came to work there. I enjoyed her sense of humor and her dedication to both her work and her family. I will miss her and remember her.

My prayers are with you. Mom loved Arlene dearly. She and Mom would have the best time out in the field watching me pick whatever was growing at that time! lol. They worked together at the hospital for nearly my whole life growing up, and they were pals off out of work as well. She was very proud of the life your family built together, and it showed. Mom would want me to tell you how much Arlene meant to her. She was a great Lady and will be missed by everyone. God bless.

I first met Arlene in 1983 , when I moved to P'Cola from middle Georgia . I heard her speak at a radiology continuing education meeting . She was quite an impressive speaker . Now , 27 years later , I can not begin to express the deep admiration , respect , and genuine love I have for her .Arlene was full of knowledge and had a fiery spirit that captivated those around her . My prayers go out to you , her family . May the Lord comfort you and give you HIS peace .

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
