Don Gay Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 11 to Mar. 13, 2016.
Don Wyatt Gay

Don Wyatt Gay passed away in his home February 24, 2016, from complications of a lung disease. He was born on April 10, 1942, to a gunsmith, game warden and police officer Dudley Gay and his wife Nell.

Don enjoyed a successful career and retired from Bell South/AT&T and also retired as a Major in the Army National Guard. Don rose through the ranks and at one time was Company Commander of the Pensacola branch of the National Guard. Upon retiring Don tried his hand at real estate and found he had a knack for it, spending the next 20 years selling real estate and developing properties as the sole proprietor of Costa Blanca Realty.

Don is survived by Beverly Gay and their three children Bob(Traci) Gay, Greg(Sheila) Gay and Terry(Erik) Sutek and several grand and great-grand children.

Burial will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS March 17, 2016 @ 12:35.

Sincere condolences to the family. Don was one of my best friends in high school....lost contact and haven't seen him for over 50 years. I've always hoped to see him again...maybe at a reunion. Sadly that won't happen now but my memory of Don is strong....he was an exceptionally fine person and I am very fortunate to have had him for my friend!

My deepest sympathy to the Gay family. Don was a super nice guy and will be missed I know. We went to Cocoa High together and he was a good friend. Sorry we lost touch over the years.
