MARTIN

MARION LINDBERGH, of Glen Mills, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the age of 85 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He grew up in rural Virginia the youngest of three children. After serving several years in the U.S. Navy (where he quickly got the nickname Joe), Marion was granted a scholar-ship to Yale University where he studied Electrical Engineer-ing. It was during these college years he met and eventually married Imogene Carnahan. Marion and Imogene celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2012.
Marion loved his Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies. He was an avid golfer as a member of Overbrook Golf Club for over 30 years. He served others selflessly for over 40 years as an active member of the Newtown Square Presbyterian Church. Always the southern gentle-man, Marion was a very polite and gracious human being. There was always a please, thank you, yes sir or no ma'am. He loved the outdoors and spent many a summer fishing with his buddies and family at Sharbot Lake in Ontario Canada. Marion worked solely in the Electrical Power Equip-ment Distribution business for his entire career, mainly in the sales arena. If you were to ask any of his colleagues how to best describe M L "Joe" Martin, here's what you would hear – ethical, respectful, loyal, smart …...the consummate hard-working businessman.
Marion is survived by his wife Imogene, daughter Lorie Morgan of Downers Grove IL, son David of Livermore, CA and 4 grandchildren.
We'll all miss you Joe. You were a generous and loving father and husband. God bless.
