Dear Gladden/North/Alsop family: The weight of our loss is exceeded only by the blessing of having had Isom in our lives. Now that Isom has gone on to his reward, his victory, I am full of thoughts (and there are so many) of a simpler time, during the mid-1950's, when Isom and I were not just friends, but everyday friends whose day was not complete until we had seen one another. In those days, those simpler days, we "ran" the block of 50th and Market; along with our little "crew": There was JoJo; Gregory & Marion; Greg, Carol & Curt; Armand & Arnold; and of course Aleta (Carol & Aleta were tough little girls who would never be out done by the boys). Yes we "ran" that block everyday..., until the street lights came on.... Isom, with his heart of gold, loved his little sister and his friends. And we loved him. Thank you for sharing him with us. May God's peace be with you forever.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's day to day business, may the comfort and love of family and friends help to make each day a little easier. I knew Isom from the day he entered into the P.O. and his beautiful spirit and personality will never be forgotten.
