I am truly sorry for your loss. Coach Dermigny was a great man. I played for him from 1967 to 1970. He always inspired me and helped me get into college to continue to play football at West Chester University. He will be sadly missed.

God saw you were getting tired
and a cure was not to be,.
SO He put his arms around you and whispered "COME TO ME'
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us ,
He only takes the best..
RIP ....

Goodbye Coach. I knew Coach Dermigny when I played for him at Penncrest, 1964 season. I wasn't a very good player, but that man made me better than I ever thought I could be. More than football, in that one season I learned more life lessons and skills than at any other time in my life. He was a good man and was loved. My condolences to his family and thanks for sharing him with us.

Mr. Sam Dermigny was a wonderful teacher, an outstanding football coach and a caring gentleman. Sam never demanded respect but for the life of me I never remember any of his players giving anything but great respect. Coach Dermigny lead the Penncrest Lions ('66) to the only football championship that Penncrest High School has ever had in it's 50+ years -
Sam will truly be missed by students, players, friends and family.
May God bless you Sam Dermigny and thanks for all the lessons.

Sam Dermigny was a gentleman, teacher, and a great football coach. I knew Sam from The Prep where he was liked and respected by the faculty and especially the students. I last saw Sam at our 45th Prep Reunion where he talked to Ron Klemick,Vincent Jimmy Panetta and myself-he was very friendly and his usual positive self. Sam will truly be missed by his students, players, family and his many friends."May John J."Sam" Dermigny Rest In Eternal Peace".

As a student at St. Joe's Prep, Sam taught the football players the benefit of hard work through his enthusiasm and knowledge of the game. Practice at the college level was a breeze compared to Sam's demanding practices, especially the two a days in August. I will particularly cherish the 1959 Class 45th reunion at the boathouse where I spent quality time with Sam in recalling our Prep days.
Sam Dermigny was very much a part of my success at the Naval Academy.

Sam was one of the finest men and the finest football coach I ever knew. I am a much better man for having known and played for him at Penncrest High in 1966.
