Suddenly on March 13, 2017. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Cassady). Loving father of Kristy (Neal) Halbe and Brianne. Dear grandfather of Ben and Kathryn. Brother of JoAnne Schaarschmidt, Joseph and Maryellen Farmer. Relatives, friends and employees of Glaxo Smith Kline are invited to attend his Memorial Gathering Friday 9:30 to 10 A.M. at St. Jerome Church, 8100 Colfax St., Phila., PA 19136. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 A.M. Int. private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to St. Jerome's Birthright c/o St. Jerome Church.

I am truly saddened by Ed's passing. We worked for many years at the Shipyard. I remember his first days at the yard. I enjoyed watching him grow from an apprentice to Industrial Electronics Control Mechanic then on to the instructor position. Ed left his mark on this world. First as a kind giving person then as a talented instructor teaching apprentices how to earn a living for their family. He will be sorely missed. Ed your memories of our time at the yard is etched in my memory for eternity. RPI old friend. Mike Thompson
