JoAnn Hunsicker Obituary

JoAnn H. HUNSICKER, 84, OF COLLEGEVILLE JoAnn H. (Hoover) Hunsicker, 84, of Collegeville, died December 1, 2011, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia after a brief illness. Mrs. Hunsicker was born in Norristown on September 28, 1927, a daughter of the late H. Conrad and Dorothy (Rich) Hoover. Mrs. Hunsicker graduated from Norristown High School. She was a retired dental assistant for Dr. Kenneth E. Neiman in Norristown and Dr. R. Clomer Miller in Collegeville. She was a devoted member of Trinity Reformed Church in Collegeville as well as a member of the Trappe Historical Society. She held many positions in the Community Club of Collegeville, most recently she served as chaplain. She helped at the Grace Bean Soup Kitchen in Norristown and served Meals on Wheels for 31 years. Also, she was a member of the PHI Alpha Sorority of Norristown. Mrs. Hunsicker was the widow of Howard B. Hunsicker, who passed away in 1990. She is survived by two sons, Gerald H. Hunsicker of Houston, TX, and David R. Hunsicker and his wife, Louise (Freier) Hunsicker of Trappe. Also surviving are three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her brother, Rev. Conrad Hoover of South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her son, Howard B. Hunsicker Jr.; by her brother, Richard W. Hoover and his wife, Pauline (Tyson) Hoover, and by her daughter-in-law, Irene (Henry) Hunsicker. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011, 1 p.m. at the Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 532 E. Main St., Collegeville. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Martha B. Kriebel. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation before the service. Contributions in Mrs. Hunsicker's memory may be made to Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ. Condolences may be expressed at www.ruggierofh.com. Arrangements are by the Ruggiero Funeral Home, Trappe.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. JoAnn was a loving woman and inspiration to us all. I always enjoyed visitng with her in Pa. and her many trips to Houston. I know she will be dearly missed.
