Helen was an incredible woman from a family of incredible women. Although she and my mother were cousins, they were more like sisters. After my mother died, she became her surrogate to me. She taught me to grow African violets, put a cinnamon stick in my teapot, and appreciate Architectural Digest - over 45 years ago! Words cannot express my sorrow at her passing.

I am blessed to have had the pleasure of being a companion to Mrs.Hill. She truly was 100% class, 100% lady, 100% of the time. Everyone she came in contact with wanted to hug her, open the door for her or tell her how nice she looked. Mrs.Hill was adored everywhere we went from dr.offices, beauty shops, to the local Hallmark. She mentored many, young people in her life, and they kept in contact. Often she would get a call from a student passing thru town wanting to take Mrs.Hill to lunch. Its as if anyone that ever met her kept in touch. The volume of friends equal to the variety. I will miss her forever. And, I am eternally grateful to have had the pleasure of her friendship, and the benefit of her wisdom. A remarkable lady.

Dr. Hill was a kind and gental person. Her soft spoken yet commanding way brought her the respect she deserved. Thank you for all you have done for the Girl Scouts locally and Nationally. You were a role model that many young girls admired. I am grateful for having the opportunities to interact with you. You have enriched my life.

It saddened my heart to read about Mrs. Hill's death. I have fond memories of both she and Dr. Carl Hill when I worked in the President's Office at KY State University (Frankfort,KY). She was a lovely, kind compassionate person, we worked closely on planning events for the faculty and staff during the 70's. To the famiy - please accept my hearfelt symphathy in the loss of your loved one. She will live on in the lives of those she touched. We who are in Christ know that to be "absent from the body is to be one with the Lord". Louis Jene (Mattison) Carter, Lou. KY

Helen and Carl were such a lovely couple. I remember them both so fondly. I met them when I was a member at First Presbyterian in Hampton, and their kindness to me will always be a special memory. I still have two rose bushes in my garden in North Carolina that Helen gave me--Peace Roses--and when they bloom, I think of Helen. She will be sorely missed.
