Maureen,Bob,& Kate,

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you everyday. Alex was truly a great kid, and a wonderful friend. Our family wasn't able to see him as much as we would have liked, but when we were altogether last June, it was a very special time. I am very sad to think I never really got to spend the time with Alex as I would have liked, but when you guys came to my game last spring, and Alex and I had the peanut war in the stands, that is how I will remember him. Just an easy going, friendly, great kid. I love all of you guys and wish we could have had more time with Alex and watch him grow as a person. You are not alone in this tough time, you have your family, your friends, and your church to help out along the way.

God Bless Alex.

Maureen, Bob & Kate,

I am so saddened over our loss of Alex. I hope you know how many people are praying for you everyday and from that I pray that you find strength to get through. Although my times with Alex were infrequent due to the distance of our families, please know that I will treasure those memories forever. It was a blessing that brought our entire family together last June, and that time together now means more than ever. Alex came to see me play soccer and to see Nick play hockey and I only wish we could have seen what a great baseball player he was and was destined to become. Our family not only lost a son, a brother, a cousin, a nephew, a grandson, and a friend, but the world lost a friendly, funny, and kind young man. He is in Heaven playing baseball with Grandpa Bill. Only the good die young.

May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall—
You do not walk alone.

Dear Katelyn, Maureen & Bob,
I keep going back and forth between laughing and crying. I keep thinking about the dinner tables I shared with Alex, being so silly, and laughing. I think about Will and Alex playing catch in your front yard, playing games boys do. I remember wrestling with them in your front yard, in my living room. I can hear his voice, and his laugh. I remember him being so funny during speech therapy. I can see him petting and loving on Fenway and Nittany when he was younger. I will miss him antagonizing me about the Red Sox and Patriots and trying to convince me that wrestling is real. So many warm funny times to remember. Pam and I will miss him dearly. I know Will will miss him and is taking this pretty rough. And I want you to know how much we love you guys. We are here for you. And Pam, Will, Chloe and I are praying that you take comfort and peace in knowing that Alex is in heaven, happy and in the presence of Jesus probably having a catch with Him right now. God bless and keep you. We love you-Bill, Pam, Will, & Chloe

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Gillie,

I can truly say that it was a joy having your son grace the halls of WBMS. I will always remember his smile, the way he walked the halls making sure he would get to class on time, and talking about racing and baseball. He was a pleasant young man, full of life and joy. You are in my prayers and I offer my deepest condolences.

May God truly bless you in this time of loss...."Dr. Ricks-8th grade principal."

Our hearts are sadden with your loss of young Alex. It seems just like yesterday that we were celebrating God's gift to your family. Such joy in having him with you these fourteen years...fond memories of his early years at the Cape, we will never forget. Our faith assures us Alex is with God now, safe and in good care. Gillie Family:

Alex was one of my favorite students and I will miss him. He was a hard working young man who never complained.

Alex enjoyed sharing funny stories with his classmates and me. What a great sense of humor he had!

Alex loved wearing his grey cowboy boots to school...I smile as I remember how much he loved them.

God be with you as you go through life with many fond memories of Alex.

May God, our Comforter, hold you close...
You are in my thoughts and prayers,

Hi, I went to school with Alex but only knew him for a couple on years. He never said anything mean to anyone in our school that I could hear. He was always nice to me and people in the school. He will be greatly missed.

Mr.& Mrs. Gillie,
I am deeply saddened by the recent loss of your wonderful son, Alex. Alex was an exceptional young man of character. He was a pleasure to teach. I was fortunate to have him as a student during his primary grades, first, second, and his last year of middle school. I had an opportunity to watch Alex grow and blossom into a nice young man. He was an extension of family to me and his classmates. He will be tremendously missed. May God comfort you during your time of need. Words or deeds cannot speak to the void in your hearts at this time, but know God is able to sustain you during this difficult time. If there is ANYTHING that I can do to help please let me know.

In Prayer, Love & Sympathy,

Alex will be truely missed, it was with great pleasure that I was able to see Alex grow as a player and person on the field. He was a great kid to coach and be around at WBAC. Great kids and great people like the Gillie's are the reasons why WBAC is such a strong organization and family. Thanks for allowing me the honor to be a part of such a special young man's life.

Maureen and Robert, We cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. We are thankful that Alex was brought to church and came to Kid's Church some times. He was exposed to teachings of Jesus and knew the gift of life that Jesus has to offer. Maureen, you can find comfort in knowing that you were a part of leading him to that gift of life by bringing him to church and giving him the spiritual guidance that is such an important part of parenting. Spiritual faith in God is the greatest gift we can give our children. Our temporary time on earth is nothing compared to the eternity we will have when we leave here. That is when we will be reunited with those who have made the choice to recieve God's gracious gift. We pray the peace of God will comfort you and sustain you in the days ahead. Our love and prayers to you and your family. Pastor Charlie and Sue Mann
