E. Williams Obituary

E. Terry Williams FANCY GAP - Edwin Terry Williams, 57, passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010. He was a native of Portsmouth and was the son of the late Earl Williams and Mary Atkison. He was a Vietnam veteran with the U.S. Army, a Mason and a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church in Hillsville, Va. He was employed with Wilson Asphalt and Commercial Project Management. He is survived by his wife, Diane Humphreys Williams; a daughter, Tara Katyrn Williams; four sons, David Shane Williams, Christopher Travis Williams and wife Samantha, Joshua David Roberts and Joseph Aaron Roberts; three sisters, Patricia Brinkley, Linda Street and Sandy Hopkins and her husband Kenneth; two brothers, Richard T. Atkison and James B. Atkison; and one granddaughter, Reilly Williams. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Rick Moore. Burial will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with military honors. He will always be my brother. And above all else, my brother in Christ. Terry and I had many "spiritual" conversations over the years. I know for certain I will see him again one day.
