Elizabeth Stephenson Obituary

Elizabeth A. Stephenson PORTSMOUTH - Elizabeth Ann Stephenson died June 28, 2010. She was born in Smithfield, N.C., to the late George W. and Katie Black Stephenson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Portsmouth. Elizabeth graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947 and retired from the Naval Hospital as a purchasing agent. She is survived by her sister Sylvia and numerous cousins. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July1, at 11 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kerry Westerwick officiating. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd., is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 515 Court St., Portsmouth, VA 23704. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

Sylvia -- We've been remembering Lib with such joy, thinking about strawberry daiquiris at the little yellow cottage and watching White Christmas and eating crab casserole and laughing whenever we were together. We are thankful her days of suffering are ended and she is at home with the Lord and your beloved parents. We are asking God to hold you close as you mourn and miss her. You are not alone. We love you.
