Joseph Morgan Obituary

Joe Morgan PORTSMOUTH - Joseph Howard Morgan, 93, of the 400 block of Leavell Road, went to be with the Lord Oct. 18, 2010. He retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 17, after 30 years. His hobby was repairing sewing machines. He was a member of the West Park Church of Christ. He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Flora; daughter, Daphne Davis; son, Joey Morgan; and granddaughter, Sabrina Luce. He will be sadly missed but leaves to cherish great memories: grandsons, Michael Williams and Jason Morgan; great-grandchildren, Ashley Creamer, Thomas Williams, Romie Williams and wife Katie, Misty Luce and Josh Luce; daughter-in-law, Ginger Morgan; brother, Edward Morgan; special niece, Nettie Keeter and husband Leslie; and many loving friends, neighbors, and relatives. Joe wanted his family and friends to share in a visitation luncheon celebration of his life after his funeral officiated by Minister Keith Lewis at the West Park Church of Christ, 926 Cherokee Road, Portsmouth, at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements. Viewing will be one hour before the service. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial Donations may be made to the Family Life Center, West Park Church of Christ. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

Joe was a great guy, I worked with him in the sheetmetal shop at NNSY while I was going through the apprentice program. Always pleasant and in a good mood and a good sheetmetal worker.
