Louise Cox Obituary

Louise Cox PORTSMOUTH - Louise Cox, 83, formerly of the 1100 block of Tatem Ave., went to be with the Lord Monday, Sept. 13, 2010. She was a lifetime member of Grove Park Baptist Church, and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Portsmouth for over eight years. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Cox. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Bell and husband James; two sons, Billy Cox and wife Teresa, and Randy Cox and wife Carol; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by Pastor Jim Woodland. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

To the Family of Mrs.Louise Cox :
My prayers go out to you in the loss of your Angel and my Sweet Pumpkin as she was fondly called by me. I will surely miss all the hugs and smiles we shared.She was one of the nicest people I ever met.On Saturday as I was passing her room she waved for me to come in and pass her some water. She smiled and held my hands and as I walked out I turned and waved good-bye to her not knowing it would be my last time seeing her but I will always remember that smile that was on her face.I am grateful to God that I had the pleasure of rejoicing with her as she was being welcomed into Heaven. I could always see the love her family had for her and she just loved it.She will never be far from you as long as you visit her in prayer and sweet memories. May God be with you.
