Charles Branchcomb Obituary

Charles B. Branchcomb CHESAPEAKE - Charles B. Branchcomb departed this life on Monday, June 27, 2011 at Sentara Leigh Hospital. He was born July 5, 1925 to William and Lillian Branchcomb in New York. He was a member of St. Thomas AMEZ Church. He retired as a contract specialist, Sup Ships, NNSY. "Chuck" as he was known, loved his job as well as flying airplanes. He is survived by his wife, Flossie; four children, Steven, Charles Jr. (Roz), Harry and Pamela; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa and Helen; four brothers, Joseph (Toby), Adrian, Alvin (Reva) and Kenneth; five stepchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. A homegoing celebration will be held Tuesday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas AMEZ Church with the Dr. Joseph Lamb Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be held Monday, July 4, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Pretlow and Son Funeral Home, Chesapeake, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. You may offer your condolences to the family at www.pretlowandsons.com.
