she loved the the kids. every christmas she would give the kids something it wasn't much but it was out of kindness. she was the the first and only person to introduce herself when we moved to the neighborhood. she would scold us when ever she heard my husband or me scolding the kids about playing in her yard. she always told us to let them be. my little girl loved going over to her house just to talk her ears off, and she never seemed to mind. she hated our cat but loved the kids. she always had some kind of advice and kindness to give us. she will truly be missed.
