Jean Webb Mitchell

Virginia Beach - Jean Webb Mitchell 88, a retired School Teacher, died May 18, 2014. Mrs. Mitchell was born on December 17, 1925 in Norfolk. The daughter of the late Bertha and Paul Webb. She was the widow of Andrew Jackson Mitchell, Jr. to whom she was devoted. She taught for the Virginia Beach Public Schools System for more than 20 years mostly at Pembroke Meadows Elementary. She was a member of Old Donation Episcopal Church.

Survivor include her daughter, Paula J. Pennington and her husband, Frank of Portsmouth, VA; her daughter, Audrey Jo Campbell and her husband, Howard of Culpeper, VA; her son, Andrew J. Mitchell, III and his wife Kay of Virginia Beach; a nephew, William Ballance of Woodstock, VA; also six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, May 21, at 1 p.m. at Old Donation Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel are handling arrangements.www.hdoliver.com
