Virginia Beach - Roberta "Bobbye" Stearns Davis, 80, of Westminster-Canterbury, passed away May 4, 2016.

A native of Alexandria, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Erastus Wiley Stearns, Jr. and Roberta Schneider Stearns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lowell Davis.

She graduated from St. Agnes High School and then spent one year at Hollins College in Roanoke, VA. Bobbye and Lowell were married at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Alexandria in 1955. She and her loving husband Lowell lived in Alexandria for 40 years while Lowell worked as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of PEPCO. Bobbye supported Lowell's career and spent many years as a volunteer for various institutions including Alexandria Hospital and Arlington House at Arlington National Cemetery. Bobbye and Lowell retired to Virginia Beach in 1997 to enjoy their children and grandchildren. For over 20 years, they were members of Old Donation Episcopal Church. Bobbye was a Trustee of Old Donation as well as the Chairperson of the Flower Guild, a Stephen Minister, and a member of the Cemetery committee. She was also an avid gardener and active in the Thalia Garden Club.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Michael S. Davis; her daughter, Elizabeth D. Burroughs and husband Richard Gregory; and two grandchildren, Lillian B. Burroughs and Maxwell D. Burroughs, all of Virginia Beach.

The funeral service will be conducted Monday, May 9, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Old Donation Episcopal Church with Rev. Fred Poteet officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Old Donation Episcopal Church Building Fund.
