Alice, May God bless you and your family during this period and provide you all with lasting memories of your times together. I still can see your dad walking the grounds of St.Rose of Lima Church and in the church itself. You all are in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy to all the Glasheens. I have very fond memories of your dad. He and my dad used to take Alice and me bowling when we were in high school. So when I think of your dad, I think of those days and it brings sweet memories of both of our dads. I hope that you are comforted by the thoughts of a very joyful reunion of your mom and dad in heaven. I can just imagine my own dad smiling as he sees an old friend. I remember your dad as being very young and very active. However, I did not realize all the wonderful things he did for the community until I read about some of them in the legacy guest book. And I bet there are many good things he has done that you will never learn about. It must be very heartwarming to know that he had such a tremendous impact on other people’s lives. Both of your parents have God’s ear and will still be looking after you. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. May your memories bring you comfort and make you smile. Love, Helen Monta Monk

Alice, I just want to send my thoughts and prayers to you and your family during these difficult days. We never can be prepared for our parents leaving us, but there is also some comfort in knowing they are just behind the curtain and will continue to watch over for us until such we join them. I will never forget your mom and dad's presence at St.Rose's. He continued to check on the church and I would see and talk with him after church on Saturday's. I imagine he is re-organizing heaven to make it more efficient! God bless you and take comfort in your memories. Sharon Budahn Jones

My heart goes out to the entire Glasheen immediate and extended family. My dear friend for over 26 years was a wonderful person. He was a devoted husband and father. Gabe was not ready to go, but he knew his time was nearing. He spent most of his life helping others in the community of Hampton Virginia. He is best known in Hampton for putting together a Neighborhood Watch before there was a Neighborhood Watch. He spent tireless hours patrolling the streets of Hampton, looking out for the property and safety of others. On un-countless nights he was my backup unit before a marked unit would arrive. He was able to inspire others in the community to be apart of his patrol team. He is best known by the Hampton Police Division, as the person that made it possible for C B Radios to be in the marked police cars, so the citizens could communicate with the patrol officer(s) on Channel 36. I will never forget "Gabe" telling me if there were cell phones back then, he could double the number of suspects caught committing crimes. His C B Radio handle was "The Irish Man." If something was going on in the community, many residents wouldn't call the police, they would call Gabe. The citizens of Hampton have truly lost a wonderful man. His work and achievement will live on forever.
He is truly deserving of a Life Time Achievement Award.

WE ALL LOVE YOU GABE AND WE KNOW YOU ARE WATCHING AND FIGHTING CRIME FROM HEAVEN.

We always loose our Dads too soon. As a daughter who lost her dad about 10 years ago, I remember the loss but the sweet memories just get sweeter as time passes. I know all your family has those sweet memories. Cherish them and let them keep him close to you always. Blessings to you and my your Dad rest in peace.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
