Adam Haylock Obituary

Adam Jene Haylock CHESAPEAKE - Adam Jene "Casper" Haylock, 28, of Chesapeake and Hollywood, Calif., died Oct. 26, 2010 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif. He was born in Queens, N.Y., a son of Deirdre Love and the late Michael Jon Haylock. Left to cherish his memory are his 5-year-old daughter, Elyssa Brooklyn Haylock; his caring mother, Deirdre Love of Chesapeake; his grandparents, Wilhelmina and Claude Seabrooks of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Eric Haylock of Simpsonville, S.C., and Richard Andre Love of Chesapeake; his girlfriend, Ashley Weeks of Chesapeake/Hollywood; his cousin and best friend, Christopher Smith of Los Angeles; as well a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, a sister-in-law, six nieces and thousands of friends who loved and adored him. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Jon Haylock, and his grandparents, Inede and Jon Haylock. Adam was a caterer at Special Events Staffing in Los Angeles and had recently completed his certification as and EKG monitor technician at the California School of Health Sciences. Adam was the most authentic human being this world has ever seen. His passion for life, strong morals and beliefs and quick wit led him to live his life his way. His charismatic charm and warm eyes and smile created instant friendships. One could not be in the same room as him without smiling and laughing...either with him or at him! He loved skateboarding, bodyboarding, snowboarding and fashion. He dreamed of starting his own clothing line and opening his own skate shop that would provide access and a positive outlet to youth as skating had done for him. He lived for his daughter, Elyssa and having fun with her every chance he had. He was an amazing cook and really enjoyed making good meals for the ones he loved; he also enjoyed going to the beach, many different types of music, movies, golfing, playing guitar and being anywhere there was a party! He loved life and was ready to go anywhere and experience anything life had to offer him. A viewing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2 at Riddick Funeral Service in Norfolk from 2 to 5 p.m. The family will then receive friends at 6 p.m. at The Basilica of Saint Mary in Norfolk with a wake at 7 p.m. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 3 at noon in The Basilica of Saint Mary with repass immediately following in the church hall. Memorial donations can be made to the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk in his memory.

Your presence has left so many memories that will carry on. You were part of our family growing up in Chesapeake. I don't recall a memory without you when I think of that house. Sneaking on the side of the house with my brothers; late night sleepovers; and the classic kitchen episode with Shawn. You were the first one to walk in on that. Had it not been for Bruce, that secret would still be with only you! You will be forever missed! I know God needed you and you're now in paradise. Love you so much! Thank you for everything! God bless! My prayers are with you, your family, and the massive amount of friends you touched!
