Anna Mueller Obituary

Anna Maria Mueller VIRGINIA BEACH - Anna Maria "Marianne" Mueller died Oct. 21, 2010 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. Marianne was born June 19, 1935 in Russelsheim, Germany. She was the daughter of Wilhelm and Otilia Riebler. Marianne is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Oskar Mueller; her daughter, Annette Gibson and husband Wilford; her son, Dr. Christopher Mueller and his wife Lane; and grandchildren, Grace, David and Audrey Gibson, and Abby and Megan Mueller, all of Virginia Beach. Marianne attended school in Germany where she graduated at the top of her class. After marrying in Germany she and her husband moved to the United States. They settled in Pennsylvania where they lived until 2004. After retirement they relocated to Virginia to be closer to family. In Pennsylvania, Marianne was employed at the Reading Rehabilitation Hospital as a cook. Although she was very respected by her coworkers, her life always centered on her family. She provided them with love, caring, support and many wonderful family dinners. She found her greatest joy among her grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Holy Family with Fr. Joseph Slattery officiating. The family will receive friends at the church the hour prior. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Food Pantry of Church of the Holy Family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who provided her care during her difficult battle with illness. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.

I worked with Anna for a few years at the Reading Rehabilitation Hospital. She always had the gift of making her co-workers laugh. She was one of those special people who will never be forgotten. God bless all of you.
