Christine Durr Obituary

Christine B. Durr VIRGINIA BEACH - Christine Ann Barnard Durr, 65, of Suffolk, passed away Oct. 15, 2010 after a long battle with health issues. A native of Binghamton, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian Barnard. She was a retired registered nurse with Sentara Bayside Hospital. Chris is survived by her daughter, Laura Bailey and husband Matthew of Kenbridge, Va., two sons, Stephen Durr of Virginia Beach, and Jeffrey Durr of Suffolk; her sister, Karen Skinner of Binghamton; her brother, Michael Barnard and wife Nancy of Cooper City, Fla.; and grandchildren, Caitlin, Kyle, Chloe and Claire Bailey and Justin Durr. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and close friends. She was predeceased by her best friend, Cookie. A memorial Mass will be conducted at The Catholic Church of St. Mark Thursday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service and burial will be Saturday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, N.Y. Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.

I miss her already she was my patient when I was in training in September everyone who had a chance to meet her feels the say way she was so sweet and lovable. May god rest her soul, and my prayers be with you at this time of need.
