Christine Lapsley Obituary

Christine W. Lapsley SUFFOLK - Chris Lapsley, 66, peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 in Suffolk. She was born in Norfolk and lived in Tidewater her entire life. Chris worked at United Way of South Hampton Roads from 1978 until she retired in 2003. Chris is survived by her husband, Tom; sons, Eddie, Lance and Sebastian; daughters, Michelle, Charis and Kimberlon; one brother, Dr. Paul West of Norfolk; and sister, Louise West of Petersburg, Va.; 11 wonderful grandchildren; and her beloved Basset, "Sammie Jo." Chris was predeceased by her parents, Dr. W. Roger and Aileene West. She leaves a host of friends to cherish her memory. A memorial service honoring Chris' life will be held July 15 at 3 p.m. in Western Branch Community Church, 1935 Jolliff Road, Chesapeake. The service will be conducted by Dr. Jim Wall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to UWSHR, P.O. Box 41069, Norfolk, VA 23541.
