Donald Haddox Obituary

Donald F. Haddox VIRGINIA BEACH - Donald Francis Haddox, 85, passed away in his home, Marian Manor, on April 17, 2010. He was born May 22, 1924 to Roy J. and Margaret G. Haddox in Beaver Falls, Pa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jean Haddox. Mr. Haddox was a decorated World War II veteran who retired after 26 years as a chief quartermaster in the U.S. Navy. He then worked for more than 20 years for D.D. Jones Warehouse and Transfer. He was an avid gardener with a great sense of humor. His fun-living spirit will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Donna Snyder and husband Ronald, David Haddox and wife Deborah, Terry Haddox and wife Judi, and Kevin Haddox and wife Babette; his grandchildren, Kenneth and Gary Snyder, T.J., Jeff, Matthew, Nicholas, Travis and Gabrielle Haddox; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Hilton and Kaitlyn, Cora, Abbigail and Emma Snyder; sister, Beverly Smith; and special friend, Jeannette Smith. His ashes will be scattered at sea by the United States Navy with military honors. A memorial service will be conducted at Marian Manor, 5345 Marian Lane, Virginia Beach at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 25. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy Relief Fund.
