I remember Emily saying once, "Ya know...you are one of my few students at CoA who dares to call me Emily....and I LIKE IT!!!" One of the greatest qualities this woman had, aside from her genuine kindness, was how very down to earth she was. Emily was a great advisor and mentor to me during my CoA days in Manteo - she helped me find my way and, no matter how busy, was always willing to spend a few moments to chat. My condolences to her family, of which she was ALWAYS so proud - I can only imagine the sorrow you must feel. Rest in peace, now and always, Emily. Love - Maureen

Doctor Robertson was my SGA advisor for the Dare Campus at COA, my mentor, and my friend. We shared a many of tears and goodtimes. She was one of the people that made me who I am today She loved the Redskins. Eventhough I was a Cowboy fan, she stil loved me the same. I will always remember her and cheerish the memories that we had. Doc, I will miss you and to the family may God be with you in this time of sadness. Be Blessed.

Emily was a unique, caring, and unforgettable person.
I have so many wonderful memories (and funny stories!) of attending graduate school together at William and Mary, where we earned our doctorates in Higher Education Administration. (Only Emily could pull off a particular class presentation on higher education marketing dressed in a chicken suit!)
Any person who has known Emily will always remember her zest for life, her living faith, and her compassion for others.
With heartfelt sympathy to her family. May they take comfort in the knowledge of all the lives she inspired and touched forever,

Emily touched everyone she met with her beautiful smile and loving heart. Her and I shared our birthdays (4-14); grand-daughters named Zoe, our love of art and true friendship
Know that she is still with us - always in our hearts. God Bless

Dr. Robertson was very helpful to me while I attended COA. She spoke about me at the Outer Banks graduation luncheon 2005. I was impressed by her from the moment I meet her and found a sense of trust in her ability to take her students serious and not just look at them as a number. She recalled my ability to send a long e-mail. This one if for you short and sweet.
May you look down upon your family and be their angle. May their memories of you be never ending. For you are in heaven, God has a plan for you.
Thanks for the advice as I once again graduate from COA in 2011. You will be missed by many!
