Francis Green Obituary

Francis X. Green VIRGINIA BEACH- Retired U.S. Army Maj. Francis X. Green Sr., 90, passed away Dec. 2, 2010 in Virginia Beach. A native of Philadelphia, he served in the 87th Infantry Division in World War II. He was a member of the Church of the Ascension, Virginia Beach, and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Marie T. Green; sons, Francis X. Green Jr. (Elaine) of Virginia Beach, and John Green of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; daughters, Maureen Spamer (Don) of Virginia Beach and Terri Weaver (Tom) of Marlton, N.J.; and grandchildren, Amy Green, Alicia Hedval (Erik), Donald Spamer, and TJ Weaver. The family will receive friends at The Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, Monday from 10 a.m. to noon, at which time a funeral Mass will be offered. Interment will take place in Albert Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Monday at 2:30 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Food Pantry at the Church of the Ascension.
