Freddie Presson Obituary

Freddie N. Presson COURTLAND - Freddie Nicholas Presson, 73, died April 26, 2010 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was born in Franklin, a son of the late Julia Blythe Presson and Vernon Cobb Presson. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he retired from the sheet finishing department of Union Camp Corporation after more than 40 years service. Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Sharron P. Runion (Michael) of Courtland and Sherri P. Wells (Shane) of Emporia; mother of his children and best friend, Beckey Presson of Garysburg, N.C.; a special sister-in-law whom Freddie considered his oldest daughter, Bonnie Wright of Emporia; six grandchildren, Bryan, Brandon, Daniel, Ashley, Kristen and Nicholas; four great-grandchildren, Hayleigh, Coleton, Carley and Carter; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, April 30, in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Tommy Speight and the Rev. Roy Drake officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 N.
