Gillette Cobb Obituary

Gillette Holland Cobb SUFFOLK - Gillette Holland Cobb, 81, passed away June 13, 2010. A native of Drum Hill, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James Causey Holland and Rosa Ella Jones Holland. She was also predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Russell Tillson Cobb; her great-grandchild, Danica Thompson; four brothers; and five sisters. Gillette retired after many years of service as a paralegal for John D. Eure Jr. and she also was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in- law, Brenda C. and Whit Oliver, Janis C. and Mark Greene, Patsy C. and Randy Tew, all of Suffolk; a son and daughter-in-law, R. Wayne and Kathy Jo H. Cobb of Zuni; four grandchildren, Kriston C. Thompson and husband C.J., Russ Greene and wife Allison, Kelsey Greene and Jacob Oliver; and two great- grandchildren, Justin and Christopher Thompson. A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, with the Rev. Robert J. Parks Jr. officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation at the home of Patsy and Randy Tew. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Greenbrier Tower II, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
