Grace Sibilia Obituary

Grace Lops Sibilia SUFFOLK - Grace Lops Sibilia, 86, passed away Sept. 24, 2010. She was born in Corato, Italy, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Quinto Lops. Grace worked as a seamstress for numerous years. She was predeceased by her husband, John B. Sibilia and her granddaughter, Hunter Elizabeth Jones. She was a member of St. Mary's of the Presentation in Suffolk and later became a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach. Grace is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Grace S. and Mark Jones of Virginia Beach; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Terry Sibilia of Gansevoort, N.Y., Sal and Tammy Sibilia of Windsor, Va.; grandchildren, Josh Sibilia (Jennifer), Sarae S. Joyner (Michael), Dan Sibilia, Kristen Sibilia, Katelyn Jones and Natalie Jones; great-grandchildren, Ava Joyner and Caleb Sibilia; sisters, Tina Palli and Rosa Sibilia, both of Italy; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Presentation with Father Steve DeLeon officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed Monday at 6 p.m., led by the Knights of Columbus at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, followed by a visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
