Gussie Pittman Obituary

Gussie B. Pittman NORFOLK - Gussie Beatrice Pittman, fondly known to many as "Miss Gussie Bea," departed this life peacefully Oct. 19, 2010. Miss Gussie Bea was born Oct. 24, 1925 in Camden, N.C., to the late Lonnie Seymore and Georgia Ruth Walston Seymore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pittman and two brothers, Herbert and Issac Seymore. Miss Gussie Bea retired from the Norfolk school system as a custodial worker at Carrollton Elementary School. Miss Gussie Bea leaves to mourn a brother, Willard Seymore and two sisters, Ida Jones and Mildred (Willie) Rasco; and one uncle, Miles (Daisy) Walston Sr.; and godchild, Costeneah Putney; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. in Guiding Light Apostolic Church, Portsmouth. Interment will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
