James Hooper Obituary

James S. Hooper Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - James S. Hooper Sr., 80, passed away April 15, 2010. Mr. Hooper was born July 26, 1929 in Bangor, Maine. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service, where he was a senior chief's machinist mate. Survivors are his children, Jacqueline Depeau of Stafford Springs, Conn., James Hooper Jr. of Virginia Beach, Virginia Perrier of Stafford Springs, Larry Hooper of Hudson Falls, N.Y., and Carol Hooper Macura of Southborough, Mass.; stepchildren, Bill Ferebee of Keene, N.Y., Patty Ferebee of Virginia Beach, Vernon Ferebee of Arizona, Rodney, James, and Vincent Waterfield, all of Norfolk; 21 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives, Gina Randall, Marcia Hooper, and Rosa Hooper. A funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA 23502. Family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
