Jesse Allsbrook Obituary

Jesse D. Allsbrook SUFFOLK - Jesse D. Allsbrook, 84, died June 1, 2010. A native of Scotland Neck, N.C., he was the son of the late Jesse B. Allsbrook and Eva Allsbrook Offer. He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie Beck Johnson. Mr. Allsbrook was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church where he served as an usher and former deacon. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lindsey Allsbrook of Suffolk; one daughter, Cathy A. Allsbrook of Suffolk; and one son, Lynn E. Allsbrook of Hampton. A funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Gardner at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, in Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk, with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church Building Fund, 1549 Holland Road, Suffolk, or to one's favorite charity.
