John Gossett

John Gossett VIRGINIA BEACH - John "Mike" Gossett, 61, passed away in his sleep the morning of June 22, 2011. He was born July 28, 1949 to the late John C. and Ruth Bailey Gossett in Ohio. Mike spent seven years proudly serving the United States Army during Vietnam along with many other successful businesses including Wee-Care, Express Auto Rentals, Auto Express Car lot and Fat Mike's Hotdog's. Left to cherish his memory are his first wife of 30 years, Carolyn Hambrick; her parents, Dot and Lomax Dozier and sister Sandra Dozier; two children, Kevin and his wife Jesse, Kraig and his wife Jen; his companion of eight years, Cecy Ebaugh; two brothers, Thomas and his wife Rhonda and Roger and his wife Sandy. He was most proud of his nine grandchildren, Cameron, Courtney, Hunter Thomas, Adam, Kyle Desautels, Trey, Kara, Mason and Keegan Gossett; also one great-grandchild, Landon Desautels. Mike was also proud of Cecy's daughters, Dawn, Beth, Kyla and their children, Cameron, Chase, Savannah, Shallen, Josh, Reagan, Roman and Charllotte. Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Kymberly Desautels Thomas. A celebration of Mike's life will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1500 Sewells Point Road, Norfolk, Wednesday, June 29, at 4 p.m. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, have may be sent to the Norfolk SPCA (a no-kill shelter).
