I remember Mr. Brock as a purser for the Jamestown/Scotland Ferry System, when I worked there in past years. Also I remember him from Bacon's Castle Baptist Church, when my Dad, Rev. Alfred Duncan,Sr would preach there. My thoughts & prayers are with the family. God bless all of you during this time.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. I got to know Mr. John as a teen when I stayed at Scotland each summer with my aunt and uncle, Ruby & Ward Tynes. Mr John would let us ride the ferry all day if we wanted to, but after a few rides we had to check in with him and then ride again later. He always had a smile and seem to really enjoy his job. He was a real joy to know .
I also got to see him years later much to my surprise at a shower for Sterling Crocker, we had a long chat an I got to know the family connection. God bless all of you in your time of sorry

Eddie and Darlene,
My condolences across the miles to both of you and your families. I always knew I would be smiling when in Mr. Brock's presence because of his humerous and kind personality. I'm glad I had a chance to experience this, if only a few times, over the years.

My thoughts go back to John in his "Purser" days on the ferries, he made many friends there and was a friend to all. He will be missed.

My prayers and thoughts go out to each of you. John Brock was a friendly and just person. He loved sharing his home, his kindness, and many stories of life's lessons.

He always loved seeing friendly faces on the Jamestown Ferry and we always looked forward seeing him. John always had a twinkle in his eyes and love in his heart.

I have no doubt that John Brock is winging his way throughout the heavens and leading a flock of angels. I have fond memories of Sunday afternoons at the Brock home, listening to old stories, enjoying excellent food. Sharing Sunday services meant so much.

God bless each of you during your time of sorrow.
With sincere respect,

Brenda Layne/Wakefield, VA
